"Squid Lance (they/them) is an emerging artist focused primarily on 3D mediums. They started pursuing art full-time in 2025 after regularly attending the open studio pottery at Artworks and rekindling their love for ceramics. They have lived in Big Rapids since 2020 and have found their place in the local artist community and in becoming a Best Friend of the Muskegon River (local volunteer leader for the MRWA). Squid completed a Conservation Stewards Program through MSU Extension in November 2025. Much of their inspiration comes from nature and the outdoors, particularly water and the imperfect nature of organic shapes."
