Laurie Taylor

Medium: Mosaic

Laurie Taylor began her journey in mosaics after attending a mosaic art exhibit at Artworks about twenty years ago. But she had always been interested in art: “I used to get in trouble in grade school for daydreaming but I really wasn’t daydreaming,” she says, “I was brainstorming about my current project waiting for me at home.”

Laurie incorporates pottery, jewelry, natural materials, and items she has deemed “rusty junk” in her art. “I find it very satisfying breathing new life into items that have run their course of usefulness and can be reincarnated into something new, beautiful and thought provoking,” she says.
