Anna Szafranski creates pottery that blends modern and simple style with rustic elements. She transfers color from a piece of newspaper onto the pottery and adds texture to create a unique look. She enjoys making pieces that both look nice and can serve a purpose in people’s daily lives. 

Anna started working in ceramics while pursuing a degree in Graphic Design at Central Michigan University. Growing up, art had always been a hobby for Anna, but she never expected it to become something she would want to pursue for the rest of her life. After the first time she tried pottery, she realized that she had found her passion. “I’m intrigued with how the different forms and shapes function in a variety of ways and how those factors alter people’s interaction or reaction to them,” she says.
