Darrell DeRuiter

Medium: Woodworking

Darrell majored in art at Calvin College, then went on to continue creating wood sculpture and woodcut printmaking. He has worked as DeRuiter Woodcrafts since 1978, “producing dimensional wood signs, as well as carving hundreds of bas-relief patterns for bronze and aluminum casting of portraits, governmental, military and institutional emblems and seals.”

Darrell’s current area of focus is turned bowls and turned and carved wood. Beyond selling his work through Artworks, he also has some at Artplace in Fremont, and has participated in Festival regional exhibitions and the Art Beneath the Bark show.
