Watercolor Wonders: An Introduction to Painting with Flow
Watercolor Wonders: An Introduction to Painting with Flow
Saturday, November 1
9am-1pm
Instructor: Joyce Capen
Dive into the colorful, splashy world of watercolor—where happy accidents are part of the magic! In this beginner-friendly class, we’ll start by getting to know the stars of the show: paints, brushes, paper, and a few sneaky extras that make watercolor shine. You’ll learn how to mix colors, control water flow (or let it run wild), and create effects from soft washes to bold, textured layers.
Through playful exercises, you’ll explore techniques like wet-on-wet, dry brush, glazing, and lifting—turning simple brushstrokes into luminous landscapes, dreamy abstracts, or vibrant florals. Along the way, you’ll pick up tips for balancing control with spontaneity, so your paintings feel fresh, alive, and uniquely yours.
No prior painting experience needed—just a love of color and a willingness to get your hands (and maybe the table) a little messy. All materials and supplies provided.
