In this introduction to local botany, you will explore Big Rapids’ parks learning to identify plants, plant structure, how to use a plant key in the field, and some plant ecology. You should be able to walk one to two miles at a leisurely pace on level ground. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes for outdoors. Bring a pen, notebook, and plant field guide if you have one (some will be available to try out). A cell phone or camera may be helpful. Bug spray probably will not be needed.
